Ban the Bag is launched!

'Do Something!' would like to welcome visitors to our new 'Ban the Bag' website, www.BantheBag.com.au.

Our campaign has 3 key aims:

• to lobby governments to make national the South Australian ban on plastic bags
• to encourage retailers to ban plastic bags as soon as possible
• to encourage the public to change their personal bag behaviour and support retail initiatives to fully eliminate plastic checkout bags

This campaign is the culmination of the many years that I have worked for a ban on plastic check-out bags. With so many retailers now moving away from using plastic bags at the checkout, a real tipping point has been reached with the campaign. The time has now come for us to ‘Ban the Bag’.

For those of you working in retail outlets who may be nervous about bidding farewell to plastic bags, be sure to check out the information coming out of South Australia.
