California one step closer to bag ban

The California State Assembly has voted to ban plastic bags in supermarkets, pharmacies, convenient stores and liquor stores. If the legislation passes the Senate, which looks likely, Governor Schwarzenegger has pledged he will sign the bill into law. The move follows initiatives already in place in California in San Francisco, Palo Alto and Malibu.
