The ‘Ban the Bag’ campaign aims to end our reliance on non-biodegradable plastic checkout bags. The problem is severe and widespread, but the solutions are already proven.

The Do Something ‘Ban the Bag’ campaign aims to:

  • lobby for a national roll-out of the South Australian ban on non-biodegradable plastic check-out bags
  • encourage retailers around Australia to ban non-biodegradable plastic check-out bags
  • promote public and media acceptance of the need to ban non-biodegradable plastic check-out bags
  • promote the use of reusable bags
  • promote the use of paper bags
  • promote the use of single use compostable bags that comply with the Australian AS 4736-2006 biodegradability standard.
If you agree with our aims, then why not join this Do Something campaign? Together we can bring about a plastic bag free Australia!
